Complexity fall short against The MongolZ in the first round of IEM Melbourne 2025
Complexity were reverse-swept by The MongolZ in the IEM Melbourne 2025 opener last night, April 20th. Complexity are now one loss away from being knocked out in the group stage, which would be a lackluster result considering their recent form.
Anubis:
Complexity 13-11 The MongolZ
The MongolZ couldn't hold on to their 8-4 advantage as Complexity decimated their defense in the second half and ran away with the map. Even though Michael "Grim" Wince was Complexity's top-fragger with 19 kills, Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli made the most beautiful play as he hit a crucial AWP collateral.
Ancient:
The MongolZ 16-13 Complexity
Much like on Anubis, Complexity were off to a slow start on Ancient, but woke up again in the second half. They won 10 rounds on the CT-side to force overtime, but failed to complete the comeback as The MongolZ were superior in the overtime.
Inferno:
The MongolZ 13-10 Complexity
Complexity marginally lost the first half by 7-5 as their CT-side weren't quite on point. They had everything in their hand to win the game on T-side as they secured the second pistol and the next two rounds, but The MongolZ found their groove at the end of the game and scored five in a row to seal their victory.
Complexity return to the server tonight 01:30AM to play paiN. The loser will be sent home, and the winner will go through the group A lower semifinals.
