NRG take down BLUEJAYS to lock in first Major in 6 years
NRG have claimed the 32nd and final spot in the BLAST.tv Austin Major with a fantastic 2-0 over BLUEJAYS, seeing NRG return to their first Major in six years while also paving the way for Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott and Alexander "br0" Bro to make their Majors debuts after many years of trying.
Train:
BLUEJAYS 4-13 NRG
Train was an utterly dominant map and a great way for NRG to start the series as the team absolutely clobbered BLUEJAYS on their own map pick. Start on their CT-side, NRG were initially 1-3 down despite before winning their pistol before completely taking control and winning the half 9-3. This would then translate into a dominant T-side showing as well with NRG quickly closing out the map 13-4.
Dust2:
BLUEJAYS 12-16 NRG
NRG started Dust2 in a similarly dominant position, bouncing back after dropping the pistol round to run the opening half 8-4 on their T-side. However, unlike Train BLUEJAYS had much more fight in them, fighting ferociously to a 10-10 stalemate and then matchpoint before a post-plant blunder paved the way for NRG to force overtime.
In overtime, BLUEJAYS looked out of their element as NRG pounced on some misplays to put a perfect OT and take Dust 16-12 to lock in the Major.
