North advances to semifinals over Immortals

The new North took down Immortals on two maps in Malmö.

The series began on Inferno, and North took no time in taking control of the half, dominating the CT side for a 12-3 scoreline. Powered by Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså and Philip “aizy” Aistrup, North didn’t give Immortals much of a chance, as they closed out the game fairly quickly despite the best efforts of Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe, who has curiously become Immortals’ best player as of late.

The second map Mirage was a tight game from the get go. North had a better than average T side, gaining 7 rounds, and quickly hit 14 once the second half started, but thanks to a big performance from kNgV- again, Immortals went on a 7-1 streak to force overtime. However, aizy and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke put their foot down and led North to a 19-17 victory on their own map pick.

North will now face Gambit in the semifinals, who just beat Astralis earlier, for a spot in the finals later tomorrow.
