IEM Oakland qualifiers announced
ESL have announced the qualification process for IEM Oakland, which will take place in the Oracle Arena November 18-19, and have $300,000 on offer. With that amount of prize money, it represents the fourth event that comprises the Intel Grand Slam, and thus theoretically the earliest a team could claim the $1,000,000 bounty on offer.
IEM Oakland already boasts a strong contingent of North American teams, with Cloud9, Liquid and SK having received invites. For teams wanting to join them, there will be qualifiers in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.
The North American Open Qualifier will be played September 19-20, and the two top teams will proceed to the Closed Qualifier. That portion of the event will be played entirely on October 2, and feature six invited sides battling alongside the qualified participants.
