Could paiN lose one of their most vital pieces?

paiN star recalled from loan as negotiations hit standstill

paiN could potentially lose one of their best players.

The Major is over, and now paiN's celebrations of almost reaching the top eight at the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major are coming crashing down due to concerns that they will lose one of their best performers from the tournament.

While Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt grabbed the headlines for being the best-fragging IGL in the international event, Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira's emergence could also not be ignored. The 22-year-old rifler was a steady rock for the squad as they took wins over top teams like Virtus.pro, HEROIC, ENCE, and more.

Some North American fans might not be aware that n1ssim was actually only on loan to paiN for the last few months. He was placed on the bench by Sharks in early 2023 and spent part of last year also on loan to Flamengo.

Dust2 Brasil reports that the loan has come to an end following the Major, with paiN and Sharks not yet reaching an agreement for the player to be acquired. In his place, paiN will now enlist their academy player Marcelo "nyezin" Ramos for any upcoming competitions while n1ssim will return to Sharks.

paiN and Sharks will continue negotiations for the player who impressed on the big stage. During the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major, n1ssim posted a 1.10 HLTV Rating, a 1.11 Impact Rating, and a 70.7% KAST. He was the second-best performer on the squad and one of the main reasons the Brazilians were able to go so far in the event.

paiN going forward are now:

  • Brazil Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt

  • Brazil Lucas "lux" Meneghini

  • Brazil Kaue "kauez" Kaschuk

  • Brazil Lucas "nqz" Soares

  • Brazil Marcelo "nyezin" Ramos

  • Brazil Henrique "rikz" Waku (Coach)
