CLG Red sweep Dignitas fe to win DreamHack Showdown Winter

It seems that showliana wasn't the answer to Dignitas fe's woes against their long-time rival.

DreamHack Winter Showdown has concluded and CLG Red have emerged victorious in the latest iteration of their rivalry with Dignitas fe. This event title marks the second in a row for CLG Red, who won DreamHack Summer Showdown over Dignitas fe in July.

Dignitas fe picked Train to kick the series off, just as they did in DreamHack's Summer Showdown, but a favorable result still eluded them this time around. CLG Red tallied nine rounds within a ten round span on their CT-side to secure a solid halftime lead.

That lead quickly evaporated as Dignitas fe won the first three rounds of the second half to tie things up at 9-9, but CLG Red went on yet another tear, winning seven of the last eight rounds to take a 1-0 series lead. Diane "di^" Tran, Jennifer "refinnej" Le, and Emma "Emy" Choe all topped the leaderboard for CLG Red with 22 kills on map one, a feat equalled by Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido in a losing effort for Dignitas fe.

This time CLG Red opted for Inferno instead of Mirage, which proved to be a much better choice for their side. They jumped out to a 10-1 lead on T-side en route to leaving Dignitas fe with an 11-4 mountain to climb in the second half. Dignitas fe simply weren't up to the task and CLG Red traded rounds with their opposition and closed out the 2-0 series sweep at their leisure. Emy finished with 25 kills on map two and led all players in the series with 47 frags, but it was di^ who pulled off the highest rating, 1.48, to take the MVP crown. Melisa "Theia" Mundorff led Dignitas fe with a 1.10 rating in the loss.
