The first home of CS2 Majors

First CS2 Major dates announced

The game hasn't dropped yet, but it seems PGL is working to give a good show on the first-ever CS2 Major.

The day after the season ended for many players dawned with news about the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major 2024. While it was already known that the Major would take place in Denmark's capital on March 2024, now PGL has announced the upcoming dates not just for the competition, but also for the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events.

The Major cycle in the new title will start on February 14th with the European RMR, followed by the Asian RMR beginning on February 26, then Americas RMR will go from March 1st to the 4th. At this time, locations for the RMR have not yet been revealed. The Major itself will start on the 17th of March, and end on the 31st of the same month. Despite the dates for the RMR being announced, there's no information about the qualifiers and when they will happen.

The Challengers Stage will take place from the 17th of March, two weeks after the end of the Americas RMR, until the 20th, with the Legends Stage starting the day after until the 24th of March. There will be a three-day break before the Champions Stage begins on the 28th until the grand final on the last day of the month of March.

The Royal Arena will be the venue that will host the maiden Counter-Strike 2 Major and the first-ever Major in Denmark. The arena is very well-known to fans of the game, who will have the opportunity to buy tickets for the event "soon", according to PGL.

For the Americas region, teams from SA and NA will have to fight for three Contender spots, one Challengers spot, and one Legends spot, just as was for the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

The PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major will have a prize pool of $1,250,000 and will be the first-ever Major played on Counter-Strike 2 and in Denmark.
