Strife IGL to step down

This marks the second time that the 24-year-old has left the team.

Following the conclusion of ESEA Cash Cup Playoffs later this week, Bobby "stamina" Eitrem has stated that he will be stepping down from the starting lineup for Strife. The IGL subtly noted in a Reddit post promoting his YouTube content that he had "previously" played for Nouns and Strife. When asked for clarification, stamina confirmed that he will be leaving the team that he rejoined back in February of this year. stamina added that he will be pursuing full-time content creation until the release of CS2, and may return as a player if North American teams find more funding.

stamina's departure from Strife comes off the back of a disappointing ESL Challenger Season 45 campaign. The team narrowly missed out on playoffs to Party Astronauts and ATK, with all three teams holding 4-3 records. Despite holding the same records, the head-to-head results did not favor Strife. The ECL season was a fruitful one for stamina individually, posting a respectable 1.15 rating in the competition.

Strife have struggled to maintain a consistent five-man lineup in recent months, with stamina's departure marking the fourth player departure since the start of April. Prior to the start of ECL Season 45, Ian "motm" Hardy replaced Paul "aris" Wilson, who announced his retirement from competition. Complications continued for the team as aris was required to take to the server in the first four matches of the season in order to retain their ECL spot, as a result of the additions of motm, Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney, and Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas changing the team's core roster from ECL Season 44.

With stamina's departure, Strife's lineup is as follows:

  • United States Gage "Infinite" Green

  • United States Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney

  • United States Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas

  • United States Ian "motm" Hardy

  • United States Calvin "becker" Becker (Coach)

Strife will now be on the hunt for a new in-game leader and AWPer ahead of the beginning of ECL Season 46, slated to start July 11th.

Update: stamina has since commented on the situation to Dust2.us:

While our roster had issues, like any would, my decision to step down was entirely based on my personal financial situation and the end of CS:GO. I plan to return in CS2 once my financial situation is under better control.
