New Identity and J Money Crew - who will drip and who will drown?

Fragadelphia 13 hits playoffs

The heavy hitters remain in the upper bracket as the final day of play gets underway.

Fragadelphia 13 is well and truly underway out in Huntington Beach — despite the standard unexpected delay.

But at least the Fragadelphia crew got donuts.

When the dust had settled and all nine groups complete, teams such as New Identity, Monstars, Triump, Thunder Logic, and Matthew "WARDELL" Yu's J Money Crew stood at the top of their respective heaps.

On the more surprising side of things, Advanced semifinalists heX scraped through Group D in second place, and Dignitas fe were eliminated from the tournament by ClearVision.

The full group stage results can be found here.

With the group stage completed, the top two teams from each group were drawn into the double-elimination playoff bracket. The four lowest seeded teams, Precision, Kinesis, Mount Olympus, and Lucas "Fiziq" Blow's idc go next were pitted against each other in the first round, with Kinesis and idc go next coming out victorious.

In the second round of the upper bracket, New Identity and Monstars took care of business with swift 2-0 wins over Kinesis and Stomp's Money Crew, respectively. Meanwhile, Jasper "sfX" Ko's Thunder Logic had a more difficult time against ClearVision, though came out victorious 2-1. Triumph, on the other hand, were not so lucky, as Canadian side TGS got the better of Alex "vek" Voynov and co.

Continuing on to the third round, New Identity once again easily handled their opposition, taking a win over Rebirth. WARDELL and J Money Crew posted a similar result against nTice, with the Ghost sniper leading the way. Though Monstars defeated Thunder Logic 2-0, the series easily could have gone to a third map, as the mix pushed the MDL team to the limit on Nuke.

The lone series to go the distance was between heX and TGS, and things looked like they might go the way of the Canadians after a dominant 16-5 victory on Dust2. From there, however, things began to tip the way of Matthew "nero" Seymour and heX, who would take a hotly-contested Inferno in overtime before blowing away TGS on Nuke.
