TSM's previous European roster contained some all-time greats

TSM confirms interest in returning to Counter-Strike

Despite rocky waters, the organization seeks to expand its horizons.

Earlier this week, the Sports Business Journal reported that TSM was entering financial difficulties, making the difficult decision to pause esports operations in multiple titles, and even potentially selling its coveted (not to mention expensive) League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) slot.

TSM first announced their intentions to enter CS:GO in October of last year with a timeline of obtaining their team sometime in early 2023. They later refined that timeline to after the conclusion on the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

Despite this SBJ report, and releasing their Rainbow Six: Siege team earlier in February, TSM's CEO Andy "Reginald" Dinh announced via Twitter than the organization's plans to enter CS:GO are still active and ongoing.

In addition, Reginald notes that their CS:GO investment will be "larger than all of the games we’ve [TSM] left combined". This indicates that their CS:GO team will be a sizeable monetary expenditure, which tracks with their goals of building a roster from the ground up, as opposed to buying out a full team.
