mantuu reveals old EG talks

The former OG AWPer has stated in an interview with pley.gg that he spoke with EG.

Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski has been out of action since last June when he was benched by OG. The AWPer has spent the past eight months on the sideline twiddling his thumbs waiting to get back into action and now in an interview with pley.gg, mantuu has revealed some of the teams he has been in discussions with and his thoughts on where he could go.

Firstly, mantuu revealed that he spoke with Evil Geniuses about joining the roster, however the North American side decided to stick to homegrown talent when they chose Jerric "wiz" Jiang to replace the outgoing Bulgarian Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov.

This decision, whilst respectable for wanting to stick with regional talent, will be scrutinized considering the American AWPer has managed an average rating of 0.90 since joining the main roster.

mantuu went on to reveal that there were discussions with NIP, even making it to an interview but the Swedish org decided to pick up Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov instead. The former OG man stated he was not only open to NA offers but that he believes he would improve every single NA team.

A bold statement considering the form of Complexity's Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, and with Liquid's Josh "oSee" Ohm having his best performance since the IEM Rio Americas RMR at IEM Katowice.

Based on the Polish-British AWPer's performances at the top level in Europe, it is not controversial to claim that he would be an instant improvement for the Evil Geniuses team. mantuu is too talented to sit on the sidelines for much longer and the move might even benefit wiz's career as his current showings suggest the NA sniper is not quite ready for tier one Counter-Strike just yet.
