JOTA's MIBR tenure has come to an end

JOTA departs MIBR amid Imperial transfer rumors

The Brazilian organization confirmed via Twitter that the 24-year-old has left the team.

Three weeks following the initial report by Dust2.Brasil, it appears that Jhonatan 'JOTA' Willian is Imperial bound as MIBR confirmed his departure from their organization today. Expected to be the successor to veteran rifler Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, JOTA would be following the same path as his former teammate Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes who joined Imperial from MIBR back in August.

JOTA leaves MIBR on a winning note, with his final contribution to the team being their triumph at ESL Challenger League Season 43, beating EG Black in the grand final. Joining the team in October 2021, the Brazilian rifler posted a 1.18 rating during his 15-month stint on the team. MIBR are yet to confirm who will be taking JOTA's spot in the lineup, however, they will need to act fast as they are scheduled to clash with Nouns at ESL Pro League Conference Season 17 on January 19th.

Following JOTA's departure, MIBR lineup as follows:

  • Brazil Raphael "exit" Lacerda

  • Brazil Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia

  • Brazil Breno "brnz4n" Poletto

  • Brazil Henrique "HEN1" Teles

  • Brazil Bruno "bit" Lima (coach)
