A real blast from the past

jasonR to play first HLTV match in five years

The streamer and former VALORANT player qualified to the fl0m Cup with a core of Mythic players.

After more than five years away from competitive CS:GO, former OpTic and Splyce player Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski is set to post his first match on HLTV during today's fl0m Cup. jasonR qualified to North America's first event of the year with a mixteam consisting of former and current Mythic members Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir, Eric "ERIC" W., Nicholas "hate" Young, and Cooper "Trucklover86" Phelps.

Following a short-lived professional VALORANT career, which saw jasonR on FaZe's lineup for less than two months, the MLG Columbus 2016 attendee has slowly been dipping his toes back into CS:GO while maintaining his full-time streaming career. jasonR played his first match on FACEIT in many months in March of last year and is now frequently seen on the NA FPL ladder every week.

This uptick in activity culminated in jasonR playing on a mixteam called 4BOTS AND ERIC last night, with the squad defying expectations by notably beating Noah "Nifty" Francis' 4ORMULA, 7AM NA, and Limitless on their way to clinching a spot in the fl0m Cup.

The team list for the fl0m Cup is as follows:

United States Davenport University
United States Detonate
United States Disconnected
United States Evil Geniuses Black

United States Nouns
United States Strife
United States Vendetta
United States 4BOTS AND ERIC (Qualified)

Interestingly, according to HLTV, ERIC seems to be sitting out the main event in favor of Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney. jasonR and co. will need all the help they can get as they are set to play Evil Geniuses Black in their opening match at 06:00PM.

Yup. He's a big enough brand (not huge but big enough) to even get pugs going in his ESEA club. Hope he sticks around.
