IEM Spring becomes IEM Brazil; Dates and Qualifiers announced

ESL has announced the qualifiers and dates for IEM's return to South America.

With the success of the IEM Rio Major, ESL initially announced their planned return to the country towards the end of the event. However, the tournament organizer did not reveal the dates for the event, despite reports pointing to it being the undecided IEM Spring, and the destination being Rio de Janeiro.

Now, ESL has formally announced that IEM Brazil will be held during IEM Spring, which is scheduled for April 17th through April 23. The tournament will feature 16 teams, a $250,000 prize pool, and will contribute to the Intel Grand Slam race.

Qualifiers for IEM Brazil will take place on January 21 through February 16th, with two open qualifiers for North America and South America, with a closed qualifier to follow. ESL has allocated one qualification spot for South America and North America, while Europe will have two.

The first open qualifier for North America takes place between January 26th and the 27th, while the second open qualifier starts February 11th and ends February 12th. The closed qualifier will be held on February 15th and 16th. The South American qualifier dates are the exact same as the North American dates.

Further details about IEM Brazil 2023 will be announced at a later date. As of now, the location of the event has not been revealed.
