The Canadian felt the team is far too restrictive to find long-term success

Disconnected's latest departure: "I just didn't feel that there was enough utilization of players' capabilities"

aris has joined Fr3nk1e and brett in their criticisms of Disconnected's playstyle.

Following Disconnected's elimination from ESL Challenger League Season 43 playoffs, Paul "aris" Wilson wasted no time in announcing his departure from the team. The Canadian's exit from the squad comes in the wake of Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He's removal from the team on December 12th, prior to the start of playoffs.

In fact, aris told Dust2.us that the removal of Fr3nk1e from Disconnected was a motivating factor in his decision to leave the team, stating that the removal of the Chinese player "didn't sit right with [him]." aris also shared Fr3nk1e's frustration with Christopher "Swahn" Swahn and Szymon "LAJT" Jaworski's authoritarian leadership style on the team.

Much like Fr3nk1e and Brett "brett" Rhein said in their own statements, aris disagreed with Disconnected's reliance on set strategies while actively discouraging mid-rounding or on-the-fly decision-making from the team's player makers. He also claimed that within the team, any efforts to break from Swahn and LAJT's calls were met with claims or sabotage because "they thought they were dumb ideas or stupid calls."

Due to this restrictive playstyle, aris said he was unwilling to stay with the project for a third season and will be looking for a new home heading into 2023.

Disconnected are now:

  • United States Silas "silas" Marrufo

  • United States Christopher "Swahn" Swahn

  • United States Matthew “D4rtyMontana” Paplawskas

  • Szymon "LAJT" Jaworski (Coach)

Disconnected was eliminated from ECL Season 43 playoffs last night following a loss to ATK. The team will need to rebuild during the player break as they look to be ready for 2023.
