Fr3nk1e Disconnects

Disconnected have parted ways with Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He ahead of the start of ESL Challenger Season 43 playoffs. The moves after Disconnected had a fairly strong regular season in ECL, posting a 4-3 record in Group B.

Fr3nk1e announced his departure from Disconnected on Twitter, with the Chinese player telling Dust2.us that he left the team due to strong disagreements over how Christopher "Swahn" Swahn and Szymon "LAJT" Jaworski chose to run the team. In particular he criticized the duo for being reliant on running set piece strategies while actively discouraging mid-rounding or playmaking by the team's rifling core. Fr3nk1e also noted how he felt he didn't have a voice on Disconnected and that the team wasn't interested in having a secondary caller that went against Swahn and LAJT's playstyle.

While Fr3nk1e did not mention these things outright in his LFT tweet, he did allude to the issue fairly heavily by retweeting Brett "brett" Rhein's October 16th TwitLonger from when he was kicked from BHOP. At the time, brett criticized the team for being unwilling to take his ideas on board while being fairly critical of how Swahn and LAJT managed him as a player. Additionally, brett was fairly critical towards LAJT for what he described as a negative and insulting leadership style.

For his part, Swahn said that the team had no bad blood with Fr3nk1e but that they couldn't cooperate and come to an agreement for how to play the game. He also noted that he did not want to go into the particulars or heavily criticize the outgoing player to avoid causing needless controversy.

In Fr3nk1e's place, Disconnected have enlisted Dave "seziwana" Schrage as a stand-in for ECL playoffs. seziwana started the season off with X13 down in ESEA Advanced before being replaced by Drew "Drewtheshrew" Lamb. ECL playoffs will be a big call up for the 26-year-old player as his last two season of ECL were seasons 36 and 29, a lifetime ago in the NA CS:GO scene.
