becker links up with Strife

The former ONET4P coach has already found a new home.

Strife have acquired the services of Calvin "becker" Becker as a coach as ESL Challenger League Season 42 kicks off. This move comes shortly after ONET4P's recent disbandment left becker briefly without a squad right before the season began.

becker spent the early portion of this year working with Third Impact as the organization acquired the former Triumph roster. Third Impact managed an unfortunate 1-6 regular season record in ECL Season 40, with their only victory stemming from Valors' disbandment at the beginning of the season. This resulted in the squad being sent to relegation, where the team latched onto their ECL spot thanks to wins over Unjustified and UYU.

Despite Third Impact retaining their spot in ECL, becker opted to join ONET4P for Season 41, alongside Walker "walker" Harris and Third Impact teammate Jack "xCeeD" Holiman. ONET4P spent Season 41 in Advanced, where the former ECL team finished in third place in the regular season before stamping out the competition in playoffs, securing direct qualification to ECL Season 42. Although Advanced was a resounding success, ONET4P faced a series of roster mishaps which eventually lead to the team's disbandment, leaving becker without a squad ahead of ECL Season 42.

Strife will be pleased to have becker working alongside them, as the team have had an unfortunate start to their ECL campaign, dropping their opening series to timbermen in a tightly contested two-map affair. Strife will have a lot of work to do if they wish to replicate their showing from the previous season of ECL, where the team finished the regular season with a 7-0 record.

Strife's roster is now:

  • United States Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan

  • Canada David "J0LZ" Jolin

  • United States Ethan "reck" Serrano

  • United States Matthew "D4rtyMontana" Paplawskas

  • United States Jordon "jitter" Ruggiero

  • United States Calvin "becker" Becker (Coach)

Strife will have some time to prepare with becker before their next ECL outing against ATK, which is currently scheduled for September 6th.
