Victorum complete roster with former Northern Forces player

Victorum have rounded out their lineup ahead of a potential ECL move-up.

Victorum IGL Max "SolGoat" Wallace recently announced the addition of former Northern Forces player Bradley "Slugy" Kohler as the squad's fifth. Slugy will be taking the place of Anhduy "nguyen" Nguyen, who was originally announced as part of Victorum's rebuild in late July but has since departed the roster.

Slugy makes his way to Victorum after spending ESEA Advanced Season 41 with Northern Forces. Slugy helped Northern Forces attain both a solid 10-4 regular-season record and a fourth-place finish in Advanced playoffs, qualifying the team for ECL Season 41 Relegation. Once in relegation, Slugy's 1.11 rating helped the team keep things close against oNe, while also securing a win over Davenport University.

Due to a number of changes in the available teams for ECL Season 42, Northern Forces' 5th-6th placing was enough for the team to claim a spot in the top domestic league. In the end, Slugy was cut from the squad ahead of ECL, with a representative from the squad stating Northern Forces needed an IGL, which they found with the addition of John "JTMythic" Timmermann.

Victorum underwent a considerable shakeup ahead of Season 42, with James "JAM" H., Dacoda "pengax" St. Louis, and Austin "Sway" Pollock all exiting the team after narrowly missing out on ECL Season 41 Relegation. To fill the trio's spots, Devin "AtomiK" Ferrell, Andrew "Drew" Warkentin, and Anhduy "nguyen" Nguyen made their way to Victorum. Room was made for Slugy on the lineup after the departure of nguyen, with Victorum stating that Slugy would ultimately be a better fit for the squad.

Victorum are currently in an interesting spot, as the potential crumbling of BHOP's lineup after the recent departures of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk may free up a spot in ECL. With Victorum's sixth-place finish in the playoffs of Season 41 of Advanced, the newly-rebuilt squad would be next in line to move up to ECL, joining a laundry list of teams who have received similar promotions, including the aforementioned Northern Forces as well as Davenport University, Unjustified, and Detonate.

Northern Forces and Victorum's rosters are now:

Northern Forces

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • Sebastian "Florence" O.

  • Canada Adam "freshie" Paterson

  • United States Isaac "Izik" Zeigler

With their spot in the league secure, Northern Forces will be looking forward the start of ECL Season 42 on August 16th. Meanwhile, Victorum will be anxiously awaiting the fate of BHOP's ECL spot.
