Coach-less Evil Geniuses headline invites for Pinnacle Cup Championship

EG and MIBR are set to travel to Sweden in early June.

Pinnacle has announced that both Evil Geniuses and MIBR have received invites to the Pinnacle Cup Championship event, joining six other squads in an event that is set to run from June 8th-11th in Lund, Sweden.

As previously mentioned, the tournament is set to run from June 8th-11th and feature a $250,000 prize pool though the exact monetary distribution is yet to be announced. Joining both Evil Geniuses and MIBR are Danish heavyweights Heroic and Astralis, Brazilian squad Imperial, and the Anglo-Swedish side, fnatic. The remaining two teams to attend the event have not yet been announced by the tournament organizer.

Evil Geniuses are currently in the process of an overhaul of their coaching staff after failing to qualify for the ongoing PGL Antwerp Major. This notably saw the team transfer-list head coach Damien "maLeK" Marcel whilst releasing assistant coach Paolo "EVY" Berbudeau and analyst Juan "Hepa" Borges.

MIBR, meanwhile, are currently fighting through the Challengers Stage of the Major with a hard-fought victory over 9z and gut-wrenching losses to Outsiders and Astralis. The Brazilian quintet are now set to face off against Eternal Fire today at 01:30PM in the 1-2 elimination matchup.

The current team list for the Pinnacle Cup Championship is as follows:

Heroic
