Vanity and oSee helped power Gorilla Gang through the bracket

Bravado and Gorilla Gang cruise through first ECS qualifier; to Challenger Cup

Swole Patrol exited the bracket earlier, but it was still an all-MDL affair at the top.

The first ECS Season 6 Challenger Cup qualifier has concluded, and after the dust has settled, it is the South Africans of Bravado upstart Americans of Gorilla Gang that have emerged on top.

The quarterfinals were largely a straightforward affair, with each victor winning with a 2-0 score line. What was surprising, however, was Swole Patrol falling to Gorilla Gang. Due to Braxton "swag" Pierce being unable to participate in the league, the team fielded FPL sensation Owen "oBo" Schlatter in his place.

After the qualifier concluded, Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro made his disatisfaction with FACEIT continuing to uphold their bans on matchfixers:

The first semifinal saw Bravado take on BlackOut on Nuke, Inferno, and Dust2 if needed. Despite a strong Terrorist half from Sebastian "seb" Bucki's men, Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek led his team to an even better one, seeing Bravado take a 1-0 lead. Bravado continued this form onto Inferno, storming out to a 12-3 lead, which they converted to the map and series win, in spite of a solid performance from Collin "wrath" McSweegan.

On the other side of the bracket, Gorilla Gang squared off against Infamous, who recently were able to retain their spot in MDL for Season 29. Despite the series going all three maps, only Nuke was contested, as Infamous squandered a strong Terrorist side to allow the map to go to overtime, which they were then able to close out. Both Inferno and Train were decidedly in Gorilla Gang's favor, with Infamous not able to muster double digit rounds on either. Though all of the Gang's players performed well in the series, it was Cameron "hydrex" Kern topping the board for his team.
