Misfits to Americas Minor playoffs over Luminosity

The North Americans shut down their South American counterparts in three maps.

Luminosity took the opening pistol of Cobblestone on their Terrorist side, and converted it into two further relatively clean round wins. François "AmaNEk" Delaunay then began an offensive onslaught of six rounds with a triple kill, and the half ultimately ended 9-6 in favor of the French-American side.

In the second-half pistol, Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan got his team off to a good start with a Glock/USP triple kill. Misfits followed this up with two rounds in which they lost only one player, getting their economy in good shape for the rounds ahead.

Misfits extended their lead up to 14-6 off of this initial streak before Luminosity were able to answer with one of their own, during which Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves had multi-kill rounds five out of six times, and narrowed their deficit to 14-12.

Despite SHOOWTiME's efforts, a quad kill from birthday boy David "devoduvek" Dobrosavljevic in the 27th round broke the backs of the Brazilians, as Misfits were able to claim their fifteenth and sixteenth rounds for the map victory.

Cache kicked off with three quick pistol kills from Gustavo "yeL" Knittel to put LG at a two-on-five advantage; however, stellar play in a post-plant by Hunter "SicK" Mims and ShahZaM allowed Misfits to come from behind and take the pistol round for themselves. The North Americans were able to secure the following two rounds with relative ease, but Luminosity replied back by picking up the first gun round, and stringing that victory into seven straight rounds before Misfits were able to grab one of their own.

This round proved to be a blessing and a curse: though it put Misfits back on the board, it also set them up for an economic reset - a situation that Luminosity was happy to take advantage of. This reset allowed Luminosity to pick up the remainder of rounds in the half, giving them an 11-4 lead.

A back-and-forth start to the second half resulted in Misfits and Luminosity trading rounds, where both squads were unable to stabilize and grab two rounds in a row. The Brazilians eventually won the battle after five rounds were traded between the two sides, allowing them to take firm control over the remainder of Cache to close out the map 16-6.

A B site retake setup on Mirage's first pistol round from Misfits paid dividends - though they conceded a bomb plant, the North Americans retook the site with ease. Luminosity answered back on round three with AKs, and grabbed the following round while Misfits saved up for rifles. This economy management in the early game was crucial as it allowed Misfits to have far more utility on their CT side, and helped net them the next three rounds in a row.

A one-on-three clutch by Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato in the eighth round gave Luminosity a lifeline, allowing them to string together three more rounds before Misfits grabbed the last four rounds to close the half 9-6.

The second pistol round also went the way of Misfits, as did the following two rounds. The first gun round saw Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes take down all five Misfits players, and gave Luminosity one last opportunity back into the series. The Brazilians were able to grab two more rounds, but the North Americans stood strong to close out the match 16-9.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
I'd like to see how far Misfits can go with this roster, of course the teams they're going up against atm are mediocre (and they're not super good themselves), but I wanna see if Sean's strats will bring em anywhere close to the major.

They can make the major if everyone on the roster is firing at all times, but I don't know if they can maintain that kind of level to make it there.
