A quick 2-0 victory has offered NRG the opportunity to make a third LAN appearance in May.

NRG have become the first North American team to claim a spot at StarSeries Season 5 after a swift dismantling of Renegades on Train and Overpass.

Set to return to Kiev from May 28th-June 3rd, StarSeries Season 5 is likely to see sixteen teams duke it out over $300,000 prize pool, although the exact number of teams at the event has yet to be revealed.

Joining NRG will be the European mixes of mousesports, who received an invite earlier last week, and HellRaisers, who qualified with a win in Bets.net's Masters tournament last month.

This will mark NRG's third LAN attendance for the month of May, as Damian "daps" Steele and co. are already set to compete at IEM Sydney and ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals. They will also be headed down to London to play in ECS' Season 5 Finals shortly after their stint in Kiev, adding a fourth tournament to their docket.

The rising talents on their roster in Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov gives promise to the lineup, but their lack of offline experience has many questioning their abilities out of the comforts of their home. Their form online has been nothing short of spectacular for a budding lineup, but they have yet to truly demonstrate their potential on LAN.

All eyes will be on the team as they gear up for Sydney next week, and with a marathon run of events now on the horizon, it seems like the online roster will finally be given the opportunity to prove themselves in a LAN environment in the upcoming months.
