Update: dare steps down from SportsBetExpert as owner Pete says player is a "total head case"

Update: Following publication of this article, dare returned our request for comment, stating that he left the team to pursue a better offer and that he enjoyed his time with SportsBetExpert and playing for Anadio. When asked about Anadio's comments about him, including calling him a "head case", dare said there was no hard feelings as he knows that Anadio is "upset" about the sudden roster change.

In the latest roster change for SportsBetExpert, the team have parted ways with Derek "dare" Brown a little over two months after adding the player alongside Samuel "sml" Oliveira on May 2nd. While not explicitly stated in the announcement, SportsBetExpert's owner Peter "PETE187" Anadio told Dust2.us that dare left the team rather than being cut. According to Anadio, dare left the team of his own volition after getting into an argument with his teammates before suddenly leaving the team while also describing him as toxic with a bad attitude.

Anadio then expanded in these points in a post on X, not mincing words as he described dare as having bad mental, a bad attitude, and being a "Total head case." dare, of course, is most known in the NA scene for being a member of the controversial timbermen squad which existed in various iterations from 2019 to 2025 wand was synonymous with offensive behavior and poor sportsmanship during that time.

While the players have seemingly since turned over a new leaf since breaking up that team, Anadio's claims seem to paint a picture of a player back to bad habits.

Due to the fairly incindiary nature of Anadio's claims about dare, Dust2.us attempted to reach out to dare for comment on why he left the team. Unfortunately we did not hear back ahead of publication. Additionally, for a second opinion Dust2.us reached out to head coach Brennan "Aureo" O'Connell for comment, however he also did not reply.

The exit of dare once again leaves SportsBetExpert without a full lineup just days after they claimed a second-place finish at FRAG St. Clair. This already had a noticeable effect as SBE forfeited day three of the Esports Nations Cup USA Open Qualifier, likely owing to losing dare.

SportsBetExpert will now once again need to return to the drawing board and find a fifth before FRAG Midwest: St. Louis on August 28th.
