Sonic is unstoppable for NRG

NRG out-clutch FlyQuest for second Major victory

An icy performance from NA.

South African player Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek has led NRG to their second win at IEM Cologne, putting the NA squad just one away from advancing to Stage 2 of the Major.

Arguably NRG’s two top-performing players to this point in the event, Sonic and Michael "Grim" Wince would secure them the opening pistol. Sonic continued to challenge FlyQuest, making the Australians fight tooth-and-nail for each of their 4 T-side rounds. So too did Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, who bested Justin "jks" Savage in multiple 1v1 scenarios.

NRG took the second pistol and reached 11 rounds with little protest from FlyQuest, who eventually locked in to diminish the gap to just two rounds. The map ended in a thrilling 1v1, with Grim prevailing over Corey "nettik" Browne to give NRG their second win of the Major.
