M80 and Wildcard claim invites to EWC 2026
The Esports World Cup have revealed the invites to their 2026 edition via an update on their website. Among the 28 teams to accept invites to the event, which recently moved to Paris, Wildcard and M80 have claimed spots, with the two squads serving as the NA representation at the $2m event.
Wildcard and M80 claimed the North American VRS invites by virtue of being the region's highest-ranked teams, with Wildcard snagging the spot thanks to their standout performance at the BC.Game Masters Championship #2 last month. Missing out on the invite to the Counter-Strike 2 will likely frustrate Liquid as they have wider ambitions in the EWC circuit as an EWCF Club Partner Program and this will hurt their chances of securing a top placing.
Four more spots in the French LAN are up to grabs via the Open Qualifier, which is set to run from August 7th to August 9th on LAN in Paris.
