Parken Challenger Championship circuit collapses as owner declares bankruptcy

A solid tier-two LAN is now gone.

Just two days after their matchmaking and broadcasting partners announced they were leaving the project, the remainder of the Parken Challenger Championship (PCC) circuit has been officially cancelled by organizers New Breed Agency ApS.

Some community members have voiced concerns around outstanding payments, and the cancellation seems to unfortunately line up with this. In a post on social media, PCC wrote that the decision comes after New Breed moved, "to initiate bankruptcy proceedings."

The cancellation means that PCC Series #9-16 and the planned Stadium Master Finals will not be held. After the conclusion of Series #1-8, PCC had planned to increase the number of teams from 18 to 24 and the prize pool from €10,000 to $25,000. Evidently, this will not happen.

The PPC Series has provided valuable exposure and experience for many teams looking to secure VRS points. The round-robin group stage and double-elimination playoffs gave teams plenty of opportunities to pick up valuable LAN wins and get a VRS rank after potentially a single event.

With the series being cancelled, teams like 100 Thieves, a three-time attendee of the circuit, will have to look elsewhere to secure points.
