FaZe eliminated from Stake Ranked Episode 2 by NIP
FaZe have been ousted from Stake Ranked Episode 2 after a 0-2 loss to 31st-ranked NIP. This marks the unceremonious end of their season, short of the Major and short of a LAN trophy.
The first half of Ancient saw NIP gain an 8-4 lead, but FaZe were able to close the gap after winning the second pistol. In the end, however, they fell just one round shy of forcing overtime. French stand-in Ryan "Neityu" Aubry unfortunately struggled with a 0.53 rating, making it all the more difficult for FaZe to take their map pick.
NIP would take the opening pistol on Nuke, but FaZe responded with a six-round defensive streak to make it a close half. NIP's CT side had similar luck, though, leaving FaZe an additional round short of overtime at 10-13.
NIP's Martin "stavn" Lund notably won the AWP battle against Helvijs "broky" Saukants in FaZe's final match of the season.
