After seven years, we're going back

ESL unveils IEM Beijing set to run in November

IEM China has a new home.

Earlier today, ESL finally announced the details for this November's IEM China event nearly one year after it was officially announced. While the IEM China events have been in Chengdu for the past two years, ESL has chosen to host this year's tournament in Beijing instead.

The northern city is no stranger to the IEM circuit as it was home to IEM Beijing back in 2019, one of the last big LANs won by the legendary Astralis squad.

Like IEM Chengdu before it, IEM Beijing will feature 16 teams split into two double-elimination groups of eight. The winner of each group will advance directly to the semifinals, while second and third place go to the quarters. All matches at the event will be bo3, apart from the bo5 final.

The event will run from November 2nd to November 8th, culminating in three days of playoffs in the Bloomage Biotech·Biohyalux ECM Arena.

A total winnings pool of $1.25 million will be split between $300,000 for prize money and $950,000 for club rewards.
