Passion UA list footballer owner Oleksandr Zinchenko as sub for IEM Atlanta
Passion UA have listed the organization's founder and AFC Ajax player Oleksandr Zinchenko as a substitute for the team at the upcoming IEM Atlanta tournament.
This wouldn't be the first time that Zinchenko has suited up for the team, should he be called upon. He previously played for Passion UA at a YaLLa Compass event in 2024. There, he stepped in for one of his team's players who had a technical issue against a BLEED team featuring former NRG and Evil Geniuses AWPer Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and current FUT star Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea.
Zinchenko helped Passion UA to a map win v. BLEED, stepping in at 6-0 down and overturning an 11-3 deficit to win the map 16-12. The Ajax man held his own in the server, posting a 12-12 K/D ratio and a 0.89 rating.
Zinchenko hasn't made an appearance on the pitch for the Dutch club since he sustained a knee injury just two and a half minutes into his home debut for Ajax on February 17th. The Ukrainian is ruled out for the season and underwent surgery after the injury.
Passion hyped up the announcements with an X post saying that their FACEIT scout had been "busy". There was also a video in the post showcasing some of Zinchenko's antics on FACEIT, with clips of the footballer securing a few nice multi-frags.
IEM Atlanta will begin on May 11th and conclude on May 17th.
