GM jokasteve is ready to play

jokasteve, M0nstr, and daps listed as subs for the IEM Cologne Major

Some interesting choices from the three NA squads.

ESL announced this morning that the rosters for the upcoming IEM Cologne Major are now locked. Each of the 32 teams slated for attendance submitted five players, a coach, and a substitute. While the players and coaches are usually unsurprising, the substitutes can be interesting as teams take varying approaches in their selection.

Most teams don't end up using substitutes unless they've recently changed the roster, but it's fun to look regardless.

Liquid chose to put their veteran general manager, Steve "jokasteve" Perino, as their substitute. In most past majors, including the recent Starladder Budapest Major, Liquid used whoever the roster's current coach was as a sub. This time, they opted for their general manager despite his lack of playing experience.

M80 took a similar approach to Liquid and listed their team manager, Jack "M0nstr" Vopat, as their sub. Though M0nstr has no official matches on HLTV, he is relatively active on FACEIT and is currently playing in ESEA Advanced for MishMash. He was also M80's sub at the previous major.

NRG went with the common strategy of listing their current coach as a sub, meaning they've got Damian "daps" Steele on their roster. As daps played multiple majors as a player and he actually subbed in for Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella at the last major, he's a no-brainer choice.
