Outfit 49 disband after mixed start to 2026

Multiple players have already found new homes.

On April 4th, Outfit 49 announced their decision to part ways with their Counter-Strike 2 roster, a little over two months after signing the Phoenix core on January 29th alongside head coach Nicholas "carbs" Carbonetto. The roster would later be rounded out by Vladyslav "Valter0k" Pukhtai and Max "Zoker" Laping on January 29th and February 10th, respectively.

During the team's time on Outfit 49's books, they competed in a number of online events, with their most notable results being top-four finishes in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7 and NA Revival Series #12 while peaking at 129th in the world on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

These results were reportedly unsatisfactory, with an Outfit 49 representative telling Dust2.us that the team decided to go their separate ways due to results not meeting expectations. As such, O49 said the players decided to go their separate ways on good terms to pursue individual offers.

This hunt for individual offers has already borne fruit for multiple players as Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko recently joined Aether while John "mds" Marin has linked up with Chicken Coop. As for the remaining players, Gabriel "Gabe" Shah told Dust2.us that he is going to help Valter0k and Zoker hold onto the VRS core while they find new players to round out the roster.

As for the organization, Outfit 49 said they are planning on focusing on the Canadian scene for the immediate future.

Outfit 49's roster were:

  • United States Gabriel "Gabe" Shah

  • United States John "mds" Marin

  • Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko

  • Vladyslav "Valter0k" Pukhtai

  • United States Max "Zoker" Laping

  • United States Nicholas "carbs" Carbonetto (Coach)
