Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Day 4 recap: Zomblers move to 2-0 with three-map thriller over EMPIRE
The second round began in Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 last night, with three matches taking place. In a 1-0 match, Zomblers beat EMPIRE in a three-map series that went to double overtime in the final game.
The other two matches came from the 0-1 pool, where Outfit 49 reverse-swept Reign Above, and InControl dealt with girl kissers 2-0.
Zomblers 2-1 EMPIRE
EMPIRE got the series started with Nuke, and they would have been fairly happy with their T side. Zomblers took a 5-0 lead, but EMPIRE came back with five out of six on the traditionally difficult T side to close the gap to 7-5 in favor of Zomblers. Zomblers saw EMPIRE's good T side and went even better, only giving up one second-half round to win the map 13-6.
Zomblers' choice was Inferno, with EMPIRE on the ropes after dropping their map. Both sides took rounds in clusters to start the second map, with EMPIRE leading by a score of 7-5 this time. They took a page out of Zomblers' book in the second half, surrendering a single round on their way to a 13-6 win of their own, forcing a decider on Dust2.
Despite falling behind 2-0, EMPIRE took the next eight rounds to propel themselves to a 9-3 lead at halftime. Zomblers answered back with seven of the next nine and nine out of eleven overall to end the second half and force overtime. It wasn't until the second ovetime that the deadlock would be broken, with Zomblers taking two rounds on both the T and CT sides to win the map 19-17 and take the series 2-1.

Outfit 49 2-1 Reign Above
The series began on Anubis, Reign Above's pick. Both sides began with streaks, as Reign Above began with four in a row, before O49 answered with six of their own. Outfit 49 held a slight edge with a 7-5 lead at the half. Both sides started with three rounds on the bounce, leaving the advantage with Outfit 49 at 10-8. Reign Above came right back, though, closing the map five rounds from six to win 13-11 and hold serve.
Outfit 49's pick was Dust2, where they immediately seized control, sprinting out to a 5-1 lead. An even end to the half put the lead with O49, 8-4. They continued their good form into the second half, surrendering just one round and winning the map 13-5.
Ancient looked like it could be a similar story to D2, with Outfit 49 taking another 8-4 lead at halftime. Reign Above won four rounds in a row to tie the game, but that was as close as they would get. Outfit 49 won five out of seven rounds to put Reign Above away with a 13-10 victory on Ancient.
