ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 2 Day 6: SportsBetExpert claim first finals spot and Aether eliminate LAG
Last night, the upper and lower bracket finals played out on day six of ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 2. SportsBetExpert thrashed Chicken Coop 2-0, then Aether took a 2-1 victory after LAG forfeited the third map.
SportsBetExpert 2-0 Chicken Coop
The upper bracket final began on Chicken Coop's pick of Ancient. SBE got off to a phenomenal start, going up 9-1 before dropping the last two rounds of the half. After SBE won the pistol and conversions, all Chicken Coop could do was delay the inevitable. SBE took the first map 13-6.
SBE picked Dust2, and it was abundantly clear why. A nearly-flawless 11-1 T-side took away any hope Chicken Coop had after the first map. Though they lost the pistol, SBE quickly closed out the map 13-2, ending the series 2-0.

Aether 2-1 LAG
The lower bracket final began on Aether's pick of Anubis. Aether took the pistol before LAG got three rounds back. After that, Aether had solid control for the rest of the half, entering their T-side with a slight 7-5 lead. Aether won the pistol and rode the momentum to a confident 13-6 win on their pick.
LAG picked Inferno and started up 3-0. Aether fought back with six, but LAG got enough to tie the score 6-6. After winning two, then dropping two, LAG won out the rest of the half to take their pick 13-8, forcing a decider.
Mirage would have been the decider, but LAG forfeited the final map "due to the private venue closing." As the team are currently in Syracuse for the upcoming FRAG York event, they are away from their home setups. They instead played at a private venue, which was not open late enough to finish the match.
