Wanted Goons stave off a map three in triple overtime.

Yesterday's ESL Challenger League Season 5 Cup 2 matches saw Wanted Goons and F5 come out on top, with both matches ending in either overtime or a map three decider. As for Outfit 49, they took a default win over regain.

United States Wanted Goons 2-0 United States Zomblers

After Zomblers took the opening pistol on Ancient, the teams traded streaks, with Wanted Goons claiming the final four rounds of the half to lead 7-5. Their CT side was even better, allowing only two scattered rounds from Zomblers. Kevin "Magic" Simpson finished the map with 23 frags and a 1.68 rating.

Nuke proved more contentious, despite the first half ending 7-5 on the heels of a six-round streak from Wanted Goons. Zomblers rebutted with five straight rounds of their own, followed by another winning spell out of Wanted Goons. The squads remained deadlocked through two series of overtime, until Wanted Goons mustered a flawless triple OT showing. Magic topped the scoreboard yet again, this time earning a 1.85 rating and 45 frags across 40 rounds of play.

United States F5 2-1 United States OverKnight

OverKnight would take both pistols on Overpass, but F5 would collect a massive seven-round stretch in between. Andrew "Kermi" Cretella and Thomas "bones" Degenhardt dominated the map, with the latter securing 13 AWP kills and 15 total eliminations in the closing half.

Dust2 would also see both pistol rounds go to OverKnight, with the squad able to put together back-to-back rounds of their own. bones again flourished with the AWP, but a team effort from OverKnight mitigated his impact, with each member finishing the map above a 1.00 rating.

With both teams taking their map picks, the game came down to Mirage. This time, F5 would finally win a pistol round, en route to a 7-5 lead. If OverKnight's players all finishing above 1.00 on Dust2 was impressive, then F5's lowest rating on Miarge being a 1.13 was extraordinary. After a bit of back-and-forth, F5 would end the game with four straight T side wins.
