Sonic can't save NRG from defeat versus Falcons
NRG faced off against Falcons in the opening match of BLAST Open Rotterdam, losing 0-2 despite a stellar performance from Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek.
Falcons would take the early rounds on Ancient to go up 4-0, when Alexander "br0" Bro put NRG on the board with a pistol 3K. The first half ended with Falcons up 9-3, and while Michael "Grim" Wince opened the second half with a dualies 3K, NRG were only able to double their score to six rounds total.
Dust2 was a closer affair, seeing NRG take the lead before giving up a 5v3 advantage to the AWP of Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov. The game had been tied 6-6 by halftime, but NRG's T side pistol appeared to be a one-off. In Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin's absence, Matej "Nucleonz" Trajkoski closed the CT side with 12 frags and a 1.58 rating, though that was nothing compared to Sonic's 3.02-rated defensive half. However, as the only NRG player with a positive K/D on the map and in the match, Sonic's efforts weren't enough to save his team.
