zonic bans team from playing FACEIT ahead of BLAST Open Rotterdam
In an extended interview with HLTV ahead of BLAST Open Rotterdamn, Falcons' head coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen revealed that he instituted a new rule on his players ahead of the Dutch LAN, banning them from playing FACEIT.
zonic told Luís "MIRAA" Mira that the unusual restriction for the experienced lineup is to tamp down on some of the bad habits he believes players pick up from playing too many pick-up games on ESL's pugging platform.
The efficacy of playing on FACEIT has long been a contentious topic among pros in the scene, with some like Danil "donk" Kryshkovets being PUG demons while others like others like Robin "ropz" Kool rarely play games on the platform.
The idea to completely ban FACEIT by zonic ahead of Rotterdam is an interesting decision by the five-time Major and comes after a rocky start for Falcons. Momentum has slowed for the team amidst top-eight finishes at IEM Krakow and PGL Cluj-Napoca while the specter of Falcons supposedly being a superteam continues to loom large.
Overall, zonic says his goal is to be harsher and to work on the team's mental as Falcons aim for a fresh start. Unfortunately, the team may bigger fish to fry as it has been revealed today that Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin will miss the start of BLAST Open Rotterdam due to visa issues, requiring the team to start the event with Matej "Nucleonz" Trajkoski.
