VRS expert explains why Roman Imperium Cup VI could be a "VRS disaster" for Liquid
Liquid have undergone what VRS expert Jesper "Udknud" Larsen calls a "VRS disaster" after their showing at Roman Imperium Cup VI.
Liquid came away with a total of 20 VRS points gained, but their defeats to lower-ranked teams at the event will cost them in the long run.
Liquid had a chance to get six wins to boost their VRS ranking, but every defeat effectively negated each win that they picked up.
These defeats will limit the height that Liquid could reach in the near future, as these defeats to low-ranked opponents could penalize them even more in the future.
Their spot in the Major isn't at risk, given their recent reclassification as an Americas team, but they could fall out of the top-24 in the Global VRS rankings. Should that happen, they would miss out on invitations to tier-one events. This means that Liquid will have to perform well at their remaining three tier-one tournaments between now and June, or they will have to make a run at the Major.
With that being said, according to Udknud, they cannot afford any more costly defeats like the ones they experienced at Roman Imperium Cup VI.
