Liquid advance to semifinals at Roman Imperium Cup VI
Liquid have defeated EYEBALLERS in the quarterfinals at Roman Imperium Cup VI to move on to the semifinals.
It was an up-and-down group stage for Liquid, which saw them squeak through with a 2-2 record. EYEBALLERS, on the other hand, came into the playoffs with a perfect 4-0 showing in groups.
The series started with EYEBALLERS' pick of Inferno. Liquid were the ones who rushed out the gate, though, taking a 10-2 lead after the CT side. Liquid quickly secured a 12-5 advantage in the second half, but FUT battled back with four rounds in a row to reduce the deficit to three. That was where Liquid would stop the comeback, winning the first map 13-9.
Dust2 was Liquid's pick, and it was a back-and-forth first half, with both teams going on runs to leave the score leveled at 6-6. The second period was all Liquid, as they didn't drop a single round on their way to the 13-6 victory and a berth in the semifinals at Roman Imperium Cup VI.
The stand-in Justinas "jL" Lekavicius was showing out for Liquid, as he dropped 46 frags, eleven more than the next closest player, to lead his side to the 2-0 sweep.
