Cryptic has escaped SkinRave's bench after two months

Official: LAG acquire Cryptic from SkinRave

Cryptic will leave IGL duties to djay on LAG.

LAG have announced the acquisition of Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore from SkinRave, seeing the player fill out LAG's ranks after they parted ways with Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield on March 5th. Cryptic joins LAG after spending the last two months on SkinRave's bench following the organization's decision to withdraw from Counter-Strike 2 as changes in Valve's sponsorship rules barred the team from playing under the SkinRave name or logo.

Cryptic joins LAG after a strong start to the year for the squad, with LAG sitting inside of the top ten in the North American VRS after winning the NA Revival Series #12 and Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #6, and making the ESEA Season 56 Finals.

Despite this success, the team made the somewhat controversial decision to cut Wolffe ostensibly due to scheduling conflicts while also making room for Cryptic on the lineup.

Within LAG, Justin "Sandman" Saulle confirmed to Dust2.us that Jonathan "djay" Dallal will remain as the team's IGL while Cryptic will be a role player within the team.

With Cryptic joining the lineup, LAG are now:

  • United States Justin "Sandman" Saulle

  • United States Kevin "consti" Yi

  • Canada Jonathan "djay" Dallal

  • United States Kamron "kmrn" Manii

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • United States Brennan "Aureo" O’Connell (Coach)

Cryptic will debut for LAG in the second ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup on March 20th.
