ogwizard celebrates receiving US citizenship; check out the potential benefits for his CS2 career
Ukrainian-American AWPer Bogdan "ogwizard" Savula has shared today that he has formally acquired American citizenship, attending his citizenship ceremony today in Chicago, Illinois. The ceremony marks the conclusion of a lengthy process of acquiring citizenship for ogwizard, with the process beginning when he first moved to the United States and started competing in the region back in 2021.
Outside of the numerous benefits ogwizard is now entitled to for being an American citizen, having US citizenship should have multiple benefits for the AWPer in the world of competitive Counter-Strike 2. Once he receives an American passport, it should make it considerably easier to attend international LANs as American citizens are eligible for visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel to 179 countries.
Additionally, with the citizenship process completed, ogwizard will be free to leave the country whenever he wants as he no longer has to meet residence requirements as part of his citizenship application.
On the CS2 front specifically, being a US citizen and being represented as such on HLTV will make him a more valuable prospect for teams looking to remain in the Americas region. For example, it would allow SportsBetExpert to import another European player without worrying about their region changing.
Overall, its great to see ogwizard join the NACS family, congratulations to him!
