Ink steps down from Sakura
Sakura coach Victor "Ink" Rozvora has announced his departure from the former ESL Impact League team, seeing the Ukrainian-American coach leave the team after joining Shimmer in January 2025 after making the transition into coaching. During his time with Sakura, Ink helped the squad to a second-place finish at the ESL Impact League Season 7 Finals and a 3rd/4th-place finish in Season 8.
With the demise of ESL Impact and the cessation of women's CS events in North America, Ink and Sakura have gone through an extended rough patch against mixed competition, posting a dismal 0-19 record on HLTV-covered matches over the past three months.
Regarding this decision to leave Sakura, Ink told Dust2.us:
"I debated the choice of stepping down post Stockholm as it felt an appropriate time to do so. I committed to the project for this first quarter with a lot of goals in mind and irrespective of roster changes that we made. I’m thinking it might be best for both parties at this point to move on and try our methods with new building blocks and also give myself some well deserved rest after a full year of 6 days competing and travel bi-monthly."
Sakura will now be on the lookout for a replacement for Ink and Raven "raven" Sol as the team aim to stay afloat amidst numerous challenges amidst an extended period of contraction for the women's scene in North America.
Sakura are now:
-
Lucy "empathy" Verkaik -
Wrenna "Stx" Trampel -
Sylvie "Serendipity" Splaver -
Alice "alicerawr" Hewitt
