Marsborne top Group D at Circuit X Pantanal Cuiabá, advance to playoffs
Marsborne have qualified for the playoffs at Circuit X Pantanal Cuiabá after winning both of their group stage matches in Group D.
The Americans have found success through strong teamplay, as each member holds an average rating of 1.06 or higher after five maps of play. Leading the charge from the front is IGL Danny "Cxzi" Strzelczyk, who has a team-high rating of 1.23.
Marsborne's opening match came against the Brazilians of Galorys. Marsborne had little trouble on their map pick of Anubis, winning by a comfortable 13-4 scoreline.
Galorys came back with a stronger showing on Ancient, coming back from 11-9 down to eventually force overtime. Marsborne were able to eek out the win, however, sweeping Galorys in the opening round of Group D.
Cxzi and Ian "motm" Hardy put up a combined 80 frags in the series, leading the Americans to a winner's round match v. RED Canids.

RED Canids proved to be a much stronger opponent for Marsborne. The Brazilian-majority side was propelled by a strong second-half T side to take Marsborne's map pick of Inferno.
Marsborne had their backs against the wall, needing to return the favor on RED Canids' pick of Ancient. A back-and-forth regulation period saw RED Canids force overtime after winning two of the map's final three rounds. Marsborne would take the initiative in the overtime, winning 16-13 to force a decisive third map.
Mirage was the final map of the series, with RED Canids coming out better in the first half at 7-5. RED Canids took a 12-8 lead in the second half, but Marsborne battled back to force another overtime. The Americans clutched up in the end, winning 16-14. In what was a true team effort, four of the five members of Marsborne logged ratings between 1.15 and 1.13 in the win.
