Liquid defeat SemperFi for their first win at ESL Pro League S23
After getting knocked into ESL Pro League's 0-2 pool by Gaimin Gladiators, who were ranked #61 in the global VRS, Liquid could not afford to lose today's match against #123-ranked SemperFi.
Dust2 started with Liquid taking the pistol and Guy "NertZ" Iluz grabbing an ace with the MP7 in round two. SemperFi came back to win the last four rounds of the half, but Liquid's T side went flawless as NertZ put up a 14-2 KDR and 3.38 rating in the second half alone.
Liquid would again take the pistol on Mirage, but SemperFi's defense kept the North American squad to just three rounds. 16 of Kristers "keen" Dārznieks 17 kills came via the AWP, en route to SemperFi's 13-7 victory.
On the Decider of Inferno, Liquid would again take an early lead, extended to 5-0 by a 3K spray down from Keith "NAF" Markovic. SemperFi would rebound on the CT side, but Liquid's 10-2 lead was too much to overcome in just one half.
