CS2 molotov bug gains renewed attention after it costs MongolZ a round at Cluj-Napoca
A crucial molotov bug happened in the PGL Cluj Napoca semifinal match between The MongolZ and Vitality. CS content creator Thour posted the clip on X showing the bug in full and the impact it had on the round.
At 14-13 in overtime, The MongolZ set up a Mirage A site execute, where Ayush "mzinho" Batbold lined up a molotov to land underneath the balcony position. The molotov landed, but it didn't expand correctly, allowing Shahar "flameZ" Shushan to get one frag, reposition under the balcony, and fly up the ladder to secure a second kill.
The bug occurred in a key round, and arguably had a big effect on the outcome of the map.
Vitality went on to win the next round, winning the map 16-13. This map proved to be The MongolZ's only shot in the series, with Vitality taking Dust2 13-3 to advance to the grand final that they would eventually win 3-0 over PARIVISION.
