Check out the VRS Impact of the NA Revival Series #12
The twelfth edition of the NA Revival Series, sponsored by PrizePicks, came to a close last weekend with LAG beating BOSS 2-1 in the final. We wanted to take a step back and look at how the event impacts the Valve Regional Standings(VRS). LAG brought home the most points with +29 due to their unexpected win over BOSS, the highest-ranked team, in the final. The $4,000 first-place prize also helped out. This gave them a solid 14-spot gain in the rankings from #167 to #153.
Runner-up BOSS also took home a solid gain of 18 points, going from #128 to #124 despite their loss in the final. The $1,000 second-place prize probably helped cushion the defeat.
The last team to gain VRS points was Outfit 49, who earned the second-most at +22. This came from their relatively low rank going into the event and their quarterfinals defeat of higher-ranked Sakura. FarmVille and MONEY CREW are not currently VRS ranked.
The remaining three teams, who all exited in the first round, lost VRS points. Rave lost the most points with -22 after they forfeited their match to an unranked FarmVille, as they were unable to field an eligible roster. Sakura lost thirteen points after losing to Outfit 49 due to their higher ranking, and OverKnight lost only five points as LAG was higher-ranked.
