Marsborne and Rave reach CCT NA Series #3 final

After three days of playoff matches, the final is set between Marsborne and Rave to finish off CCT NA Series #3. While both teams were certainly favored to make the final, the path for one was unexpected, to say the least.

Marsborne were invited to the playoffs based on their VRS rank and played Zomblers first. Though Zomblers took their own pick in a close 13-11 game, Marsborne closed out the other two maps comfortably to take the series 2-1. SportsBetExpert was their opponent in the semifinal, and Marsborne easily took their own pick of Overpass before thwarting a comeback on Mirage to win the series 2-0, advancing to the final.

Rave were also invited to the playoffs from their VRS rank, but their run was slightly different. They were matched against regain, who recently parted ways with Kyryl "fuzenko" Kotov. Though regain played their last group stage match with a stand-in, they forfeited the quarterfinal as they were unable to field an eligible roster.

Rave's semifinal was an unfortunately similar story. They were slated to face LAG, who had just put up a convincing performance against Sakura in the quarterfinals. However, about an hour before the match time, LAG announced they would forfeit the match to "ensure our players health is the best it can be."

Two very different paths, but the outcome is the same: a finals appearance that is scheduled to start tonight at 07:30PM.
