CS2 monthly player average reaches highest number since September 2023 release date

The last 30 days have set a new record for average Counter-Strike 2 players with 1,1015,793 playing our favorite first-person-shooter. This is the highest monthly player average since CS2's full release in September 2023.

This is the sixth month in a row that the average has increased with the number climbing by over 180,000 since Premier Season 3 began in July 2025. The absolute peak of average players came in May 2023 at 1,113,201 while CS:GO and the CS2 limited test were available.

This statistic has only been tracked by Steam's database since October 2022, but the count closely follows the trend of the peak player number, which also saw its apex in May 2023. That means CS2 is approaching the all-time average player count.

The increase is likely the product of slow, yet steady improvements to the core game boosted by the recent release of Premier Season 4 and the content that came with it. Here's hoping that the number continues to grow and the updates continue to come.
