Aether part ways with struggling roster
Aether have announced the departure of their Counter-Strike 2 roster, with its remaining players set to go their separate ways. The dissolution of the roster marks the end of Aether's most recent foray into the scene, with the roster tracing its origins to the SUPER EVIL GANG lineup the organization signed in June 2025.
The demise of the roster comes after a fairly tumultuous time for the team, with Aether struggling to assemble a consistent five-man lineup that could compete in and climb the Valve Regional Standings (VRS). To that point, the organization currently has three separate rosters on January VRS, underscoring the degree to which they struggled to send the same five players into the server throughout the latter half of 2025.
This has also borne out in the server, with Aether struggling to find wins as of late, finishing the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #5 and ESL Challenger League Season 50 Cup #4 without winning a single map.
As such, it is probably for the best in each player's individual careers to seek out new offers while Aether looks for new opportunities in the NA scene, something they committed to in the farewell post on X.
