NRG lock in playoffs over Voca at fl0m's Mythical LAN
NRG have locked in a playoffs berth at fl0m's Mythical LAN following a 2-0 win over Voca on the main stage. The win sees NRG continue their hot streak following the return of Josh "oSee" Ohm to the lineup, with many expecting NRG to fly to the grand finals here in Las Vegas.
NRG's series against Voca began with an utterly dominant showing from NRG on Mirage, with an ironclad defense from the team propelling them to an 11-1 CT-side. This set the stage for a very easy cleanup, with NRG taking their opponent's map pick 13-4 while oSee ended the map with a 1.80 rating.
Heading onto Dust2, Voca finally had the chance to show some signs of life as they kicked off their CT-side with an initial 5-2 lead before NRG closed the gap to 6-6 at the half. After switching sides, the end of Dust2 was quite scrappy for both teams, with a somewhat lackluster CT-side from allowing Voca to find map point first.
With the prospect of a thrid map looming, NRG were able to force overtime after coalescing around some great clutches from Alexander "br0" Bro, including a 4k to force overtime. From there, NRG were able to find a single round on their OT CT-side before pulling off a perfect T-side to take Dust2 16-14.
NRG will back in action tomorrow in the semifinals.
