Check out the VRS Impact of FRAG Miami 2 as NRG lock in IEM Kraków, IEM Rio CQ spots
Last night NRG bested 9INE in the grand finals of FRAG Miami 2, winning their third FRAG event in a row and starting 2026 off on a strong footing, but how did this event affect their placement on Valve Regional Standings (VRS)?
We have taken a look, and as expected NRG profited nicely from their run at the ROK Gaming Lounge, gaining a slew of VRS points ahead of the release of the January VRS update a few hours ago today.
NRG jumped from 33rd in the world to 27th after besting 9INE while gaining 124 points for their troubles. While this is great in an abstract sense it also has immediate real-world benefits as the team are now in a position to receive invites to IEM Kraków 2026 and IEM Rio 2026 Closed Qualifier.
In a similar vein, GamerLegion have made out like bandits with their third-place finish, as they will have also secured invites to Krakow and the Rio CQ, a great success after heading to Miami with Erik "ztr" Gustafsson as a stand-in.
Outside of NRG, most NA teams that attended FRAG Miami 2 profited from their attendance, with Marsborne climbing 11 positions to 63rd in the world, Voca climbing up to 83rd in the world, and a number of Advanced teams receiving bumps.
The only teams to lose points are M80, who fell two positions in the ranking after finishing in fourth place, and Sharks who dropped to 48th in the world after failing to make playoffs.
